NVBS Qatar players shine in India Tourney

MASHAL Manoj Sahibjan of New Vision Badminton Sport (NVBS), Doha, won a gold and silver at Junior All-Kerala Badminton Prize money Tournament Organized by Kerala Badminton Shuttle Association in India from December 27-30.

Mashal a 3rd standard student at Kings College Doha, and is partner Abhiram Sajith defeated Gautham Sumesh and Keshav Krishna 15-11, 13-15 and 15-12 in Under-9 Boys doubles final.

But Mashal finished second in the U-9 boys singles final after he lost to Gautham Sumesh (13-15, 15-9, 5-15).
Adlyn Mary Sojan of Ideal Indian School and a NVBS trainee and Shivani Shivakumar emerged the winners of U-9 Girls double, beating Johhina Mary and Shreya Maria 15-6, 15-5.

Adlyn was second runner up in U-9 girls singles after she lost to Shreya Maria Mathew in three thrilling games by 17-15, 12-15, 13-15 in the semi-finals. “The players did well due to their hard work and the support of their parents. The tournament in India was a tough one as several talented shuttlers participated,” said NVBS chief coach Manoj Sahibjan.

“NVBS hopes to build a talented team which can participate in the future tournaments,” he added.
